This is for HIP Web-site guys that don't get to spend alot of time on there site or have a hard time figuring some of the ways to do things on their site. First of all, KUDO's to Mr. Dan as he tried to help and put up with me while I tried to duplicate one of my Web pages. He explained in his usual "try to explain Greek" to a non computor Geek, but to no end.
I just wanted to duplicate a page that I already had. No big deal right. WRONG. You have to go in and build the page from scratch and enter all that Geek information. OK, for you guys that are like me (I hope their are not too many) I found a way to duplicate a page and do it right. It takes time, Ink and paper, but its self explaining (normal knowledge, not Geek) and simple to follow and it works. Go to the page you want to duplicate. 1. Copy the page - so you can see the finish product. 2. Go to Edit Page and Copy all that information and 3. go to the Configuration page, click on all your entries, and copy each. Now you have a copy of all you need and you don't have to Yell at the kids, the dog or Dan. Give it a try and tell me if it works for you. |

Steven... I guess I'm not following what you're saying (yep, I'm one of those 'non-geeks'). Why would I want a duplicate page of one that already exists? Example of what you are actually doing. Thanks.

Jeffrey, Yes it would be good to explain. I had a contract page and needed to duplicate the page for other services. You can't as I understand it just copy and paste one of your web-site pages. So I tried with Dans help to build it from scratch. I got about 80% of it right and gave up after 4 hours. Copied as I explained and was done with the right page in 35 mins. Hope that explains what I had in my head.

Thanks for posting this information Steve! I know it can be frustrating some times to get exactly what you want done, but sharing this information helps others get it done that much easier.

Thanks Steve. As Dan say's, hearing it from a non-geeks point of view helps.
