TOPIC: Merge with markers

I just tried merging 2 reports from HIP mobile to my desktop. I am glad to say it worked well. Is there some way to view comments differently. e.g. I am working on editing and finishing the report on my desktop, how can I view the other inspectors report within the now merged reports? Or do I have to review every comment that we each made?
Is it also possible to merge 2 reports by emailing the file with the pictures in it? In other words, if one inspector completes his report including pics and comments, he can then email it to me in the hip format/file and I merge my report with it? If so, what happens to the report if we both comment on the same item? Such as, we each made a comment and took a picture about the same electrical concern?

Yes, he can definitely email you the hzf file from the Client Data folder and you can merge it.

If you both comment on the exact same item, HIP will add both comments.

Here's how merge works:

1) If the merged report (could be 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc) report doesn't include a section that's in the 1st, then add that section.

2) If the section exists but an item within the section section, then add the item (tab) to the existing section.

3) If the section and item exist, add the comments from the merged report in.

4) Add all pics after the first report, assign to the same section as in the original.

The best thing to do is open and generate the other report first. Review, correct, then merge. That way you're looking over all your partners work by itself.
