TOPIC: play around with the templates

Re: play around with the templates 14 years 9 months ago #28636

The reason I would create a new menu item (empty one ), is that I am making a new multi unit template. Since I have organized and perfected comments in my standard template (which I am constantly improving anyway), I would like to simply copy, rename and paste -  let say Interior - Unit 1, Interior - Unit 2, Interior - Unit 3, and have all of the sub menus with all of my comments right there. But since I cannot just copy/rename = duplicate the main menu item, I have to create a new menu item i.e Interior - Unit 2, and then copy/rename/paste and move each sub menu item into that Interior - Unit 2, from the Interior - Unit 1. And then, I need to reposition that Interior - Unit 2 menu item, so that when I am writing a report, I have it in some logical order. So because my standard template is constantly evolving, from time to time I like to recreate my Multi Unit template, so that all of the improvements would be transfered. It would be really easy, if I could duplicate the Main menu items and just rename them, but it cannot be done in one shot. So like I said before,
" if you create a new menu item, i.e Interior -Unit 2, and do not have any sub menu items in it, then you cannot click and drop it over other menu item, and you cannot copy any sub menu item into it. So you have to create a sub menu item in the Interior-Unit2, and only then you can move it or copy other sub-menus into it" . So it is a much longer process, but at least now I know why I wasn't able to move and drop the main menu item, or copy/paste and drag sub items into it.

Is there a spell check for the post ??? and how do I turn it on?

Hey Frank,

Yes if you hit Reply rather than use the quick reply there's a spell check there. Or if you have the Google Toolbar installed it does auto spell check everywhere.

You're correct. When you create a new menu, you have to add something to it before you can drag other items to it. The menu folder doesn't recognize it's a menu until you've clicked add to add something. Then you can drag items to it. You can add something like TEMP then drag to it then delete TEMP. In the future I'll have this little quirk removed but it is something we know about.

Currently you can't copy and entire menu item, we've though about it and might add it later, but you really can only have a few menus due to the width of your screen.

Yes, that's exactly what i did. Once I understood what was going on, it was fairly quick from there. I think, being able to copy whole main menu item with sub menu would be great, if possible.
Thanks

It's definitely on our list. I'll add another vote for it :)
