Does anyone with some experience want to give advise to a novice about what to purchase and where to go to school to do thermal imaging inspections. There is a ton of information available but first hand info is worth more to me than an advertisement!

TT - contact John McKenna of American Home Inspection in Texas. He conducts the classes for INachi. Many of us on this site have taken his class.
www.texas-inspection.com My advice - get trained, learn about the equipment and don't go cheap. I have been doing IR since 2005. Again, don't go cheap. I use the RAZ-IR. It is half the price now of what I paid! You can look them up, but discuss product with people who know AFTER you get some training. |

Thank you for answering my questions! I am finding that this message board has good members who are not afraid to help, and I really appreciate it. As far as home inspection training goes which is better for both price and content, Nachi or InterNachi, (please pardon my ignorance if they are the same company)?
Again Thank you! |

NACHI & InterNACHI are the same association. They changed names for a few reasons last year. They do have a lot of online courses and online education that's accepted in a lot of states. You can see a list here:
www.nachi.org/education
plus they have
www.nachi.tv
(which is available to anyone).
If you're planning on buying our software, do it before joining, as all Home Inspector Pro users get their first year free (this started last week). There's many other associations like ASHI as well but their education is usually live so you need to check your area to see if they're active near you. |
