Credit Card Processing Billing Statements (Very Important) 15 years 11 months ago #5396

Hello Everyone,

As many of you know First National Bank rolled out a new tool for our merchants this past September involving
processing statements. Traditionally merchants receive their processing statements in the mail.  First National
Bank decided in effort to be more "tree friendly / green" that we would offer our statements online instead. 
Those of you doing business with us at that time were notified on the front page of there August and September
statements how to switch to the online process and that if they decided to still use the paper statement that they
would be charged $9.95 per month.  I will be the first to admit that this process has not been without its problems.
Some merchants have been billed $9.95 for the paper statement even though they signed up for the free online
statement.  These merchants have of course been refunded.  At first we thought that the problem was clerical but it
has been determined that the problem lies in the computer program itself.  We will have this problem isolated and fixed
but I ask that everyone please pay attention to there statements and contact me immediately if they find any fee
identified as a statement fee of $9.95, again this will be refunded immediately.  I have been in the banking and credit card
processig industry for many years and have worked for several of the largest banks in the country and if there is one thing
in paticular that I have learned it is that all banks have their problems and that they are and should be held to a higher
standard, but it is the banks that stay in tune with their customers not only to fix any problems but to develop better
solutions based on their input that are the best!  That is why I feel it is so vital to keep an open line of communication on this
forum for all areas of input and advise.  I may also be reached on my cell phone at any time, that means weekends also
