WOW - that finished house looks great!! Let's see, Salvatore Dali? Picasso? Peter Maxx on something? Love it!
"Yoyo" is quite the kind word... Send the "after" thumbnail to the city and say, "SEE! ... SEE!" And the bad feng shui to boot... To quote Marlon Brando, "Horror. The horror." Great line in a great scene. Perfect for your bad scene there. _______________________________ Here's what I see: In a couple of years, that's going to be quite the popular hood. People will be driving through, pointing, giggling into their hands, 12 people in the car, grandmothers in the back seat along for the ride simply to cover children's eyes, and police directing traffic at every intersection. There will be signs throughout the neighborhood with arrows directing people to First Prize, Second Prize, Most Cracking, Most Colorful Molds, Most Repairs, You Gotta See This One!, and so forth. Vendors will be on the corners selling "Hood Dogs" and screaming, "Hood Hoodies, getcher Hood Hoodies ryecheer." There will be different color hoodies with pictures of the different houses on the front. The HOA will charge admission. Home inspectors will take clients through on bus tours. HGTV cameras will be everywhere. Jimmy Carter will have a Habitat Home location, bricking over one of the houses. The crowning feature, a huge billboard outside the gates, designed, built and paid for by Carl Brown, website prominently displayed across the top, the whole sign properly stuccoed, with a picture of him pointing to one of the houses and the first caption, in red, "I tried to tell 'em! I tried! They wouldn't listen!" The second caption, slightly smaller, but still in red, "Yoyo's I tellya, yoyo's!" _________________________________ Works for me... |

WOW!
Those pics are unreal! Why did they even waste the labor and material on that moisture barrier? I bet those homes are selling like hotcakes regardless!!! Just like subdivisions in my area... What happened to pride in workmanship? It left town in a handcart along with its good friend common sense... : |

Wow, Carl, that's good stuff! You are the man. I applaud you, but have run into the same crap with county agents, et al, who do not believe, don't have time, could not care less, will get to it next week, you know the routine. I have never been so bull doggish as you were with that neighborhood. I would say you went way above and beyond.
My favorite line, "Builders wouldn't do such a thing...." And my Uncle Martin is really a Martian. Who are they kidding!? You have some super pictures there. One day an insurance company is going to hire you for expert witness testimony. All you have to say is, "Lookie here!", and show them 4 year old pictures. Collect check. Wave bye, bye. Coming off reading that green page, when I returned to this one it was pink! Cool effect... |
