I'm in the market for a new ladder. Do you prefer the Little Giant or a Telescopic type ladder? It seems the LG is more versatile yet the Telescopic are lighter and easier to transport. Please provide your reasons for choice :-\.

Each have their advantages. I use the LG outside and a telescopic on the interior. The telescopic is much easier to carry and I am less likely to bang a wall when carrying up a staircase. The telescopic is a blood blister menace if you are not extremely careful. In an ideal world I would have a ladder rack on my truck and carry an old fashioned(wood)extension ladder for the exterior and roof work.

I would say that 80% of my inspections are completed with my Telesteps 1800W. 14.5 feet, wide step. It should be cleaned every week. Use spray silicone, NEVER WD-40. If it gets wet like up here in the Pacific NW, it should be taken home, opened, cleaned and sprayed.
The only telescoping ladder that is a "blood blister menace" is one that is being used by someone that didn't read the instructions. Guaranteed. I have a 26' LG. It stays at home except for commercial and higher residential. |

There is nothing sweeter than the smell of fresh cut grass on a baseball infield, the click of a wooden bat and the taste of a hot dog at a warm sunny daytime double-header.

I use a few LG ladders. They are easy to see that they are locked in proper position and I feel safe on them. They are heavy, but they have outlasted several other ladders that are now in the trash heap. I still have and use a 1993 LG ladder built by Wing Mfg (Yellow label) before the red lettering took over.
