Hello Everyone~
I'm a fairly new Home Inspector and very new to this site. I'm in the market for a Moisture Meter and wanted to know your thoughts about them. Whether you've had trouble with one, loved one, spent to much, or didn't spend enough. Thanks ahead of time for your help. Jerry |

In regards to a moisture meter.
One of the moist important tools in the bag. Also great for confirming moisture if using Infared and doing mold evaluation. (I do not do at this time but have some education/training) I have had a protimeter surveymaster for numerous years. Mine is the pin type. It has been a reliable tool. I just lose the cap once in awhile. I would like the protimeter surveymaster pine type and non invasive meter. 2 measurments in one meter. Sells for $350 -$500 dollars. |

I have the Protimeter Surveymaster combo unit. The cap got lost a few times so I went to the camera store and got a lens cap keeper. Elastic cord goes around body of mostiure meter, other end sticks to cap. Cap still falls off but the keeper keeps it hanging around. The pin type is good for less visible areas and non-pin type is a must for tile floors and other areas where you can't insert pins. Mositure meters are useful for those water stains on the ceiling and they want to know if the leak is current or old. "Today the moisture content is consistent with surrounding finish." |

I love those little typos. Or was it intentional, ie. a pun? |
