I have done home inspections nearly every Saturday for over 25 years. I probably haven't had 10 off in all that time. Of course, Saturday is a good day for home inspectors, at least in my area, so not working probably costs you clients in addition to income. It is a big day for me. Not working Saturdays would mean a huge hit to the income, but obviously there are other costs.
Once a few years ago I took Saturday off and I took the family to Luray Caverns. Afterward, in the gift shop, I looked around at all the people and bustle and motion and buying and said to my wife, "So, this is what people do on Saturdays!" She said, "Take the hint..." For me Saturday usually books up before the rest of the week, but every week is different. Sometimes it isn't booked first, but by the end of the week it is completely. How about you? |

I always work Saturdays It makes sense that they are always busy for you though. Your clients don't want to take the day off work during the week either.

Service-oriented businesses have to service! When I was little a new store opened up in Kensington Maryland where I spent my teen years. It was called 7-11. We thought it was very cool that a store would open that early and stay open that late, and we patronized it! Now, of course, it is 24/7. I never go there at 2 or 3am, but it is nice to know they are there. I think it is the same with my real estate clients, knowing they can tell their clients that Saturday is available, and then hope I am not booked...
Sunday, however, is sacred for me... |
