TOPIC: Identifying System/Component Ages

Hi Guys,
I've been seeing help requests for determining the age of HVAC and plumbing stuff, and wanted to make those of you who might be interested aware of a cool little book that was published in 2008 by Mark Reinmiller called "Identifying the Age of Building Systems and Components".  It's got ID/Age info for HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Windows, Doors, Appliances --I carry it with me all the time and it's a big help when you're not sure--That's the good news--The bad news is that I don't know where you can get a copy--We got them via our ASHI chapter for $19 each--Maybe the best way is to contact Mark directly--The only info I have for him is This email address is being protected from spambots. There are a lot of good free charts available and recently Ian posted one.

As long as there is a Data plate I can usually figure it out.

The Preston book I bought a few years ago is a waste of money in my opinion.

So the $19 is a lot less than the 50 or 75 I paid for the Prestons.

I hear you on the Prestons guide David. Waste of money.
