I use to use the Mikron M7815 but upgraded to a Fluke TiR4FT Partly because of the better options but mostly for the included software.
I see now that many of the Mikron imagers are now including software which at the time of my purchase decision was around $1200 additional for what I needed it to do. Flir was/is the same way... gotta read the fine print. Beyond that, I think Mikron makes a swell line of imagers, you just need to understand each ones options, capabilities, and short comings as well as what your intended use/applications will be both now and the near future. In my opinion, the micro shot is too little pixel resolution and inadequate temperature resolution for building diagnostics. Standards indicate 0.10 NETD or better thermal resolution for building applications (the smaller the number, the better the resolution). My Fluke is 0.05 NETD... the M7815 was 0.06 NETD... the MikorSHOT is 0.20. The MikroSHOT appears better applied for industrial applications rather than building science. My opinions strictly... I just received yesterday their portable line catalog (see attachment) |
