The management company and the banks are trying to figure out if everyone needs to be FHA certified or not. I haven't heard back from them in the last few weeks. I'll check in and see what's up.

Does anyone know what exactly a "FHA Certified" Inspector is?
I went to the HUD site Louie referenced in Post 189 above and found their form 92563 "Application for Fee or Roster Personnel Designation" and am preparing to fill this out and send it in.
The attachment, if it goes thru, talks about Compliance Inspectors must pass the HUD/FHA Inspector Examination "when available". The web site only seems to talk about a three day course, currently given in Washington DC but it is not clear if this is the Exam the is required to pass. There is no charge to take the exam but I ain't traveling to DC and spending three days there to get a chance to do a few more inspections.
In my case, in Michigan, it seems like there are few listed HUD Inspectors and they seem to mainly centered in the Metropolitan areas. If this program is needing inspections in some of the more rural areas than this may be a real limitation.
Anyone have any input?

I also thought the test was only to be a 203K inspector.  Anybody know?
