TOPIC: Flex line

Flex line 14 years 1 month ago #36117

I know flex line has to be all the way in or all the way out of the heating cabinet.  I'm wondering if flex line in required at all?  Could a furnace be piped only using solid piping?

If flex line is used I would check with the manufacturers recommendations for installing.

Most of the furnaces I see are hard piped. My furnace is hard piped.

Not sure where you operate but flex line thru a cabinet is NOT allowed.  Must be rigid pipe through cabinet enclosures.

All rigid is just fine in my area.  Sismeic areas often require flex line up to the cabinet to allow the cabinet to rock and roll during a quake without breaking the gas line.
