My inspections are coming from my site as well. I got invited to a real estate sales meeting about three months ago. I was quite excited about it but I have seen no jobs from that yet.

The agent today states at the end of my inspection " are you not going to ask for one of my cards" "Most inspectors are all over me begging for referrals"
I stated that is not how I operate and I have been successful building my business and I figure if you like my services you would ask me for my card. We exchanged cards as the agent was looking out for his clients best interest and has been in business for many year. I do not feel the need to beg the Real Estate community. Good luck with the meeting Bert!! |

I did an inspection on a house an sent the report to the client. The client shared the report with the seller; and the seller's daughter saw it and hired me to perform her inspection on her new house because she liked the report. She didn't buy the house because of some military issue with her husband, but did hire me to inspect the next house after the issues were corrected. Then her agent referred me to a client from those 2 inceptions. Not bad, 3 for 1.

I was hired to perform an inspection on a foreclosure for the mortgage company. Now, they have hired me to be the project manager for the rehab. basically, I will make sure that the contractors are doing what they say they are doing and that the job gets done right.

From my point of view:
When I started doing home inspections I was given some fantastic software and really liked it but never tried anything different. When I needed to get closer to getting done on site I looked around for something else. I was looking for something better and faster to use while trying to improve our system. I spent $1500 on another software package, partially because we use a team approach. This package was powerful and had plenty of great features. We spent a month preparing it for use and rolled it out. It works great except if you make a simple mistake you can loose lots of your data. It also had some bugs and was slow transferring to the cloud. After using it in frustration for a month(about 60 inspections) we abandoned it. We than started using HIP, the crew loves it the clients and Realtors think that our reports look better than ever. It is faster, more reliable, has some features we did not know we were missing and we can actually get questions answered quickly. |
