TOPIC: Photo Inversions

Photo Inversions 5 years 9 months ago #66240

Hi Dominic,
I am enjoying using HIP mobile on my new Samsung Tablet. It's taking some time getting used to, but I think it will save lots of time in the long run. I am having one issue. When transfering all the photos to my main computer from the folder in the HIP mobile tablet, all runs smoothly. The only problem I'm having, is that the photos are inverting themselves when I go to plug them into other reports such as the wind mit, or WDO inspection. I can even rotate the photos 180 degrees in the folder and they still show up inverted (upside down). Why is this happening? The photos are not inverted in the HIP mobile report or final report. Only when I use the photos outside of the software. Any input would be appreciated. Thank you!

It's possible the other programs aren't respecting the orientation flag that's in the photos EXIM data. Do you see them correctly in Windows?

Yes they appear to be fine in Windows. It's strange that it would happen in multiple reports, not just one. Is there a way to fix that?

Hey,
Just to answer the question, since I figured out what was going on. If you retrieve the photos from the "Full Image" folder, the photos become inverted in whatever other program you use including ISN. If you copy the photos from the "Inspections" folder there is no inversion. That was driving me crazy, so I'm glad I got it squared away. It had nothing to do with Orientation Flags, but is an error within HIP mobile.

Thanks Chris. I'm still not sure I 100% see what's going on. Can you send me a few photos from the inspections and matching from full image so I can compare what your device/HIP is storing?

I will try, but it will be tomorrow. Can I add screen shots here?
