TOPIC: Confused New User

I have used Inspectvue for the past 3 years. Trying to convert to HI Pro. I really like narrative style reports, but I do not understand how to create narratives with this program. Also unsure of how & why the creation of templates is so important.

Click on the Edit Comments button when in any section to see the left side where the ratings were turn into an editor. Simply click Add to add a new narrative. You can also move them up/down so the most used are at the top. You can double click any narrative to change what it says. Just make sure to save templates so it's saved.

Why are editing templates important? Instead of having to purchase a separate commercial program lik in InspectVue, you could easily make your own. We've included two now but they'll need tweaking depending on your situation.

Depending on the area you live in, you may have no pools so why keep the page? You may never have bars on the windows. In the southwest there are no basements but in other places there are. You can tweak you template to add/remove these items.

Many states require something in their SOP that others don't, check out the Templates section of the forum and download a few.

We also have people creating templates for inspections in 10 countries and 5 languages. Everything from boat inspections, playground inspections, skyscraper HVAC systems and more.

When you get a chance, go through the animated tutorials, they'll give you a better idea on the how.

I would like to add once you create your template make a backup and also save it on a CD or thumb drive. The last thing you need is to waste hours of time.

I had difficulty when I started but now it is easy. I still update my template weekly and I am trying to improve for time to complete and quality.
