TOPIC: Windows Tablet questions

Windows Tablet questions 9 years 4 months ago #61517

I'm looking at a windows tablet and have some questions, help appreciated.

1. Can photos be taken directly into the desired report page with windows?  I don't see how.  I know it can be done on Android.

2. Can more than one person work on the same report at the same time - i.e. 2 team inspectors working on the same house at the same time.

3. Is the wind mitigation form available for windows?  I see it on my Iphone, but not my windows machine.

4. I assume the voice recognition works with windows?  One of the reasons I returned my Android camera is the voice recognition wasn't very good.

Thank you.

Hi Bruce,

1. No. There hasn't been Windows tablets with good cameras out yet so there hasn't been a reason to program this feature yet. Most tablets have webcams which are very low quality.

2. Definitely. You can do that with mobile as well. You just merge the reports after.

3. Wind Mit is an iPhone/iPad/Android app only.

4. If you install Dragon, yes. If your Android Camera didn't have good voice recognition there was something wrong with it. Android very recognition is extremely good and actually better than Windows voice recognition software.

Thank you.

The new Winbooks have a "good enough" camera for these reports, that's what I'd like to use.

I think it was more the microphone on the Samsung Android camera I bought.

One more question, I remember that there was a downside to the Android version over the Windows, that's the main reason I stopped using the Android.  What is the downside of the Android?  I can't remember.

Thanks again.

Not to mention the Surface Pros - those have a very good camera.

I don't know what the downside you're referring to is. We have thousands of inspectors using HIP Mobile and loving it.
