TOPIC: Report Critique

Report Critique 9 years 4 months ago #61399

Hello all.  I'm looking to get some feedback on my reports, would anyone be willing to let me send them a report for critique?  I'm working on trying to reduce the length of time the report takes, right now I'm between 2-3 hours just for the report on a home that's 2,000+ square feet.  My reports are averaging between 40-60 pages, I'm curious how many pages others seem to be averaging.  So far, I've just been using the default template.  If I'm doing a smaller house with no client present, I can do the report as I go on my smartphone and finish in about 3 hours.  On the larger homes, I don't do the report as I go as the inspection itself usually takes about 2-3 hours with another couple of hours at the office inputting photos, narratives and captions.  I'm wondering if I'm filling up my report with useless information that the client doesn't care about and thus wasting my time.  Thanks in advance.

Here is a sample I did a while back ...I have made some changes since then..Evolve or be left behind!
2 hours on site 30-45 min doing the report.
I don't use mobile reporting.
However, Everyone of us are different.
The O'man that trained me 30 plus years ago said.."You have to find your own voice Roy" when it comes to reporting.
That truth still hold true today.
I try to keep it concise and understandable to all that may view it.
Your client could be a young lady that doesn't know a shingle from shinenol or a seasoned contractor. It make no difference to me..

Nice report Roy, looks a lot like mine.  I don't like checkboxes either.  I think they look too much like an old paper form.
