My question is:
Can I complete an inspection using HIP mobile then transfer the resulting report to my laptop via a USB cable and they print the report? or burn a PDF copy to a CD or memory stick?

No, it has to go through the cloud. Amazon's servers on the cloud convert the files from the mobile to the desktop format, then download to your desktop. You can review a summary on the mobile device with the client. If you want to print on site you can hotspot your phone to get Internet on your laptop.
