TOPIC: HIP Lollipop display issues

I recently upgraded my Android phone to the Motorola Nexus 6, fastest phone I've ever used as there's no Samsung or other manufacturer bloatware on it. There might be an issue though with templates on shortcut notes on the display. I attached 2 pictures to show everyone. Previously on pre 5.0 versions of android, if you spaced out your notes with the brackets at the end of the line and the spaces inside the brackets, it would appear all on 1 line on the phone/tablet. However, with Android 5.0+ I'm finding on both my 7 inch Nexus tab and 6 inch phone, that if you add the spaces inside the brackets as my template was originally set up, and as I have seen some of you do, it drops everything into 2+ lines and not just 1. I also tried just removing alot of the after note spaces inside the brackets but when you do that, it defaults the text to 2 lines on the display (2nd photo attached).  The only workaround I found is to add the line spacing AFTER the brackets....soooo I am now going in and have to delete the spacing from inside the brackets, to outside the brackets. Very cumbersome. If you are new to HIP and setting this up with note shortcuts, I suggest you do it the way I mentioned above and in the first photo attachment. As many devices are set to roll out to Android 5.0 very soon. Not sure if Dom can do some magic on the backend or if it is what it is.

Glenn, I'm not sure that this is a lollipop issue but it's hard to say without getting more info. It sounds like you had setup your notes previously in a way where the spacing happened to work out with the resolution of the device you had. Now you're running on a device with a much higher resolution. Have you tried adjusting the font app size or setting the app to only show 1 line per narrative under Settings?

Adjusted the font size display on the phone and app, does not help (I'm already running the smallest font on the app as is). Tried only showing 1 line per narrative, it just cuts it off as the line spacing jumps it to a second line, ie, it does not bring it back up. You are correct its likely not a 5.0 issue, but possibly a resolution display issue but not sure how much better the resolution is from a Note3 to the Nexus devices, BUT either way the setup I said below should solve the issue no matter what resolution you use. I can't find any workaround on this other than revising my entire template. Just putting this as a heads up for others who may be starting as a way to not run into this as our phones constantly are improving.

Spacing outside the brackets is no good as is would affect comments on the report.

Have you tried turning on the Colored Notes feature under Settings on mobile?

I just changed the default font color to a different one, if thats what you mean, same result. I'm halfway through reformatting everything as it is, so just gonna keep going today at it. This may just be a Nexus 6 issue, but something for others to see when choosing a new phone.

No, change the NOTES color under Settings on mobile. It's at the button. Make sure to enable it, then set the color to something like Blue. Then save.
