I am running HIP 4 on Windows 8...about 2 months ago, I began having this issue - I batch load photos, go into Add/Review and either type in a caption or select a comment from the drop down window. When I select a comment, I often backspace to shorten/edit it. When done, I save the inspection and generate a report. Almost every time, comments that had been shortened appear in their entirety in the caption. Sometimes the caption that I typed from scratch is blank. So I go back into the photo and either find the comment missing or the long version is back there. This is driving me nuts. I have tried to capture one of these, but cannot get one that remains consistent to send in...I've tried all sorts of saving/clearing etc...just had a terrible time with a report, so I saved the file, cleared photos and batched them in again...went and annotated all photos and this time had zero issues. Weird...

This has bee fixed in 4.1 which will be out shortly. Java 8 had a bug where if you went straight from a caption to a menu then the comment wouldn't save. Make sure to click on another caption box before leaving the screen and it'll work fine until you can use the update.
