TOPIC: Is HIP mobile a significant time saver?

I am looking to try out the mobile version but have no clue what device I should go with for HIP mobile. I am currently a mac user and am familiar with their line of products, but I am not sure that this makes any difference when choosing a mobile device for use with HIP alone. I think I will still use my 4/3 camera set up and understand I will need to clean up the reports at the office. So I don't really care about the photos the tablet takes (unless going this route really speeds an inspection up).

Is there a stand out device for HIP or just stick with an ipad because its what I know?
How much does having a tablet on site really speed up the process?

By the time I leave the property most of the time I have about 95% of the report done. All I need to do is upload my photos and clean up my verbiage. I do not us the iPad for the camera,I use a real camera.

I do not put tons of photos in my reports, only photos of problems.

Hi guys...I'm sorry if this is answered somewhere else. I use a pen based tablet with the full-version in the field, but still looking for ways to improve. On average it takes me 1/2hr to finish a report.

I've experimented with mobile, but this is the 1st I've downloaded my own template to really give it a try.

1st ... Is there a way of using "merge" for starting a pre-filled inspection?
2nd ... Can I start the inspection on the desktop and upload it to mobile?
3rd ... I don't use check-boxes; how do I eliminate it from mobile?
4th ... Some of my comments are "colored".. Can that be carried over to mobile?
5th ... The ability to upload a PDF report to client/agent...can additional names be added, and is this option part of the monthly mobile fee?

This goal is not necessarily to cut down my 1/2hr time finishing the report; but using merge & possibly mobile to cut down my time at the computer while in the field. I'd like to see if using an ipad will make my process smoother that a pen based full ver tablet.
