TOPIC: Do you need the desktop software with HIP mobile?

I have been checking out the HIP mobile app and am really impressed with the layout and ease of use. I am actively looking for software to use right now and had a few questions for the group:

Do you need the desktop version in order to use the HIP mobile app? Not sure if its designed to be standalone software for inspections. I really like the app but in trying the desktop version I was less impressed (felt kind of cluttered). If I could use the app only that would be ideal.

Can anyone who has used the Inspectit software give me a fair comparison (weak points/strong points) to the Home Inspector Pro software? I have played with both and like/dislike things about both. I am fully aware that there a lot of HIP fans here but I would like to hear some solid points and not so much opinion if possible. BTW, the forums here are great. You guys really seem to help each other out.

Hi Andrew,

Yes, the mobile version is a companion app. You need the desktop version to at the very least generate the report and edit/create your own templates. Mobile devices aren't strong enough to do everything we need to.
