TOPIC: Considering going HIP Mobile - Android Phone

Re: Considering going HIP Mobile - Android Phone 10 years 3 months ago #58621

Dom...you still in this thread..?

I really, really want to start using my Droid Razr on my inspections but can not get past the picture quality. I have attached another test report with a couple of pictures. I am using the stock phone camera and have the setting set for 8mp (not widescreen 6mp). Those are the only two options my phone gives me. I saw the last iPad update which allowed a picture quality editor within the settings (1-5) but did not see the option within in the droid settings.

In the report you will see a picture taken from the phone and edited (look how bad the arrow looks) and pictures taken with my Cannon camera (the way I do it now). I can understand a drop off in quality but the way they are looking, I would not present them to a client. Not sure why the camera phone took two different size pictures either. Look at the garage latch and exterior picture of the unpainted flashing. No changes were made between pictures but they came out two different sizes.

Any suggestions? I looked up ZoomFX but I did not see anything that pointed out better quality pictures.

Questions:

-will there be a way to grab all the pictures taken with the phone after the report is sent and save them to a file so they can be saved in a client folder. I like to keep all pictures in a client folder on my computer in case there are any questions down the road. I will be taking plenty of "misc." pictures as well that may not make it in the report but would want them for "cya" so to speak.

-do you know a way for the pictures taken using the phone can be placed/dropped/saved to a separate file on the phone? right now they are saving to my general "camera" folder on my phone.

You can take the pics out of the inspection file if you want. Submit a help desk ticket and we can send you all the steps.

The Android image issue is fixed and there will be an update shortly. We tried a new method of saving to help get the file sizes down and speed things up but it didn't work as well as it should. There will be an update out in the next few days.

Okay, thank you Dom.

Will the update address the photo quality or the quality of the editing items (arrows, circles, squares)? Or both?
