TOPIC: Photo placement

Photo placement 10 years 6 months ago #57791

Does anyone know if or how I can place a photo in more than one location? i.e. - I would like to place a electrical issue photo on the garage page and the electrical page.
I suppose I could just take two photos of the same thing but usually I don't realize it until I'm writing up my report that I would like to have a certain photo on two different pages.

Thanks.

No Paul.
Not unless you copy the same Picture and re-import it into HIP

I'm not aware of anyway to do what you are looking for with a single imported picture, although it would make it easier. When I need to use a picture in more than one section, here is what I do.  I first use the desktop HIP to batch import all the pictures I am going to use in the report. When I determine that one picture can/should be used in more than one section, I just import it again (I don't duplicate the original picture file) using the Photos > Add/Review Photos menu. This way I can edit each picture as needed for the section it is placed in. The caveat to my comment is that I'm a fairly new user of HIP (<30 reports) and use HIP Mobile with iPad mini onsite for comments with a separate digital camera. Then back at the office I use HIP Desktop to add/process photos and finalize the report.

You can go what others mentioned, just import it again. There's also a copy of the image in the C:\Program Files\Home Inspector Pro\Data\Temp\(most recent folder here)\. You can browse there via Add Photo to add it again, just never remove the actual picture from that folder.
