Get an iPad, they don't have all the lockup and file issue the androids seem to have... I have had them both and the iPad, IMVHO works better for applications like this..

Yup, I've never seen the issue on an iPad. It seems to have a better internal mechanism for tracking dropped packets and automatically retrying them. On Android it just craps out and you have to resend the file. So on Android we're constantly trying to improving methods to track when the packets are lost to retry the send. On iOS, it just works!

I rarely have the issue now that I have a dedicated hotspot. It occurred frequently when using the hotspot on my cell phone.

Yup, it's totally related to bad uploads. Hotspots will be better than a normal cell, but wifi is still best.

This post helped alot as I've been getting nailed with this issue the last 4 days plenty .
Came here and noted the title right off.. The fix is working great ... I'm back to using my samsung android phone and my assistant Rahel runs the Sammy tab 2 10.1" we use the custom template I've made and stay lockstep throughout the inspection. I only take shots of actual issues now. We upload the files to the cloud after the inspection , Stefanie downloads em back in the office and merges the two , proof reads and inserts arrows where they are needed in edit and fires em off to ISN network . Meanwhile Me n Rachel are running to the next inspection.... We do run into the lock up and it's frustrating but hopefully we can use this ES explorer to alleviate and try again .. I tether my Note 3 to the camera for wifi during an upload, the tablet has it's own 4g LTE dedicated connection. |

Unfortunately the Note 3 is still using LTE which is cellular so the upload quality stinks. A real wifi would eliminate the problem but I realize it isn't always practical. We're trying to work around this.
