TOPIC: 2 summary sections

2 summary sections 10 years 9 months ago #56745

First off I have to say that I have spent a fair amount of time looking at competitors reports and what we can do with HIP is far superior to anything I have seen so far.

I have received many comments on how thorough the reports are and that is all due to the work Dom and his staff have done creating this system.

I find the room by room system works best for me with sections for the furnace, water tank etc. and have separated deficiencies into blue, things like upgrading GFCI’s,  and red for major or negotiable deficiencies which should be addressed prior to closing.

I use to put all deficiencies in red but quite often many of these deficiencies are not negotiable and at times there are so many of them it freaks the buyers out.  So now I only list the biggies in “red” on the summary page.

The problem I find with this is the other deficiencies are now scattered throughout the report in their respective sections.

It would be great, in my opinion to have two summary sections.  The first as it is now, red for major deficiencies and a second, blue in my case, following the first, of the “recommended upgrades” or whatever you want to call them.

This way it is easy for realtors to identify negotiable defects (red) and the buyer has a complete list of all deficiencies, red and blue that is easy to identify and reference.

So, is this something that can be done? Or better still, is this something you would consider doing? Can you incorporate two summary pages into the software?

Just my opinion but I think it would be great feature to add.

Hi Tim,

You can color code your actually summary comments using the Advanced Color feature under Report Settings->Formatting. That should give you what you need! There will still only be one summary (easier to read for the client) but the comments within it will be color coded.

The advanced color feature does work on mobile but it displays slightly differently. It uses the number of each color. So if you use 3 advanced colors, HIP Mobile will put a ||1|| in front of items with color 1, ||2|| in front of second, etc. The reason we did this is that when we colorized the rows it was greatly slowing down the scrolling speed within HIP Mobile which wasn't acceptable. As the processor speeds and OS's improve we'll integrate that in.

With the color coding will the summary display all the red items and then all the blue or are they all mixed up?
