TOPIC: Report writing time?

Jan, I use the note feature to be able to find my narratives quickly.

For example put a description of your narrative as the note

             narrative description          Then put your narrative after the label. It makes them easy to find.

I attached a pic as an example. Hope it helps.

I do like Troy. When I started 5 years ago it took me about 8 hours to do a report. Then I began adding my own comments and ordering them as suggested by Dom. Over time my library grew so I didn't have to add as many comments as when I started. It is trial and error on some of these and depends on how you work in  the field.

Now I use the HIP mobile, love the search function; hope that gets in the next desktop version, and basically finish at the inspection, but I go back to my office and polish it up a bit in about 45 minutes.

The camera touch screen is a royal pain in the keester often going into video mode while doing an inspection.
also the damn thing is a piece of shit in a dark crawlspace or attic where the infra red auto focus
beam never seems to find a focal object to allow it to snap the shutter and get the pic taken.

all in all I've given up on the android camera this week, and have purchased  a 10.1" tablet with
HIP mobile running on it and a real camera with wifi to dump my pics to the report and cloud etc..

Sony DSC RX100 ,,, a real camera for getting things done ....

I have been using my Samsung Galaxy S3 for the past month. It takes great pics even in attics and crawls. I still have my Olympus Tough camera for the really nasty crawls, but the phone works great.

I actually meant the samsung android camera that Dom and Bob uses
I grabbed one and have used it 3 months and called it quits this weekend..


I'll bet the phones are better ...

I use the NOTES in the same way Troy does and search feature also work good too.

I enter all my data on-site so my actual report writing (tweaking) time back in the office is down to about 1hour min. Most of the time is reviewing and tweeking the slotted photo descriptions. I'm getting better as I break my own habit of putting to much into the description.
