Dan, why do you tell them the driveway material? I am asking because I used to do that also, but realized the client already knows its concrete.
I used to do 150 pics a report until I started using the mobile. I would go back to the office and do the report, basically redoing the inspection though the pics and writing the report; 3 hours at the inspection; 3 hours writing the report. I also have a prefilled inspection for those comments that are in every inspection, i just merge it into the current inspection. Now I take about 40 pics and have the report done when I leave the site. I go to the office and polish up the report and proof read in about 45 minutes. Knocked off about over 2 hours. |

Hi Michael...I identify the material of the driveway...just like I would identify the siding, roofing, etc. IMHO it should be indentifed; Illinois says to identify material, condition, end of life, and what should be done. Clients don't always remember material; if asphalt and needs sealing, major cracking, or replacement, heaving concrete, gravel with rutts, etc. I also have several clients that may be out of state at the time of inspection and flew in to see the house...and don't remember many details.
After most inspections; I usually try to tweak my template to make it a little smoother & quicker for the next time...even if I just spend 15min doing so. Currently I want to reorganize my Smoke & Carbon comments; it's minor, but each time I see an area I can improve...I try to do so. |
