TOPIC: Pictures poor quality - pixilated, grainy

Pictures poor quality - pixilated, grainy 11 years 1 month ago #54900

I tried even buying a new camera, increasing photo size, but nothing works.  The photo quality is pretty disappointing, very grainy and pixilated.

Is this just a shortcoming in the software is there a way to correct this?

Believe it or not, try lowering the MP setting to reduce the need to resize the original. Each and every change that is made to a photo, degrades the quality. Think about it... when the original photo is, let's say, 1,000KB and you reduce it to around 50KB for the report... something is gonna suffer.

Try it, and let us know how it works for you. Good luck!

Tried that too.  I tried a 640X480 setting, it didn't help at all.

Bruce if you're getting bad pics you're using an old version somewhere. Are you importing pics directly into the Windows, Mac, Android, iPhone or iPad?

A good picture setting is around 3MP as Jeffrey said.

Dom, I just downloaded the software a few months ago, so I doubt it's outdated.  I've tried 2MP and it didn't help at all.  I use the batch upload feature and the photos are disappointing.  They look like they were taken with a cheap cell phone camera.

I can try the 3MP setting, but I really can't see how that will make a difference, there is more than enough data in a 2MP file to make a small photo look good.
