I've created numerous selection panels, only to realize they are all labeled "materials" instead of whatever I named them. For example - I made a selection panel named "General Comments", expecting it to show in the report as General Comments. However, it is labeled as "materials" in the report instead of General Comments.
It is the same with all the selection panels I created. What is wrong? Any ideas? |

Materials is only the description text that appears to the left of the start of the comments. Click on Edit Comments in that section and you'll see the description text to the left. When you have a damage panel and a selection panel together the damage panel name becomes the name of the section.

Thanks for the reply. So I can't have a selection panel name show up as I want it to? There are other things that a selection panel can be used for other than "materials"
I am trying to streamline the reporting process. I would like a selection panel to be named as I choose, even if it's a stand alone selection panel, are you saying I can't do that? For example, at the end of each section I would like a "general comments" selection panel to allow me to select some general information comments, something the report and templates all lack. I would like it to show up as "General Comments", not materials. Are you saying I can't do that? |

Inspection Items (which are also the same thing as Tab Names) don't print. Like Dom said, the Selection Panel name will print only if there is no Damage Panel associated with that Inspection Item. If that's what you're calling a "stand alone" Selection Panel, Bruce, then you should see that Selection Panel name print. You can change the Description Text to say whatever you want (by clicking Edit Comments and looking to the left about the middle of the screen). The relationship between all these things is perhaps best seen when Edit Comments in on, after which go ahead and click on Edit Template to bring up the Edit Template window. So, from the top....
....Menu Items don't print, but the Areas (or Sections as some people call them) under the Menu Items do print. Under the Areas (or Sections), the Inspection Items don't print, but the Damage Panel name(s) do print, unless there is no Damage Panel...in which case the Selection Panel name(s) prints. The Description Text prints for both Damage Panels and Selection Panels no matter what the combination of DPs and SPs unless you leave a Description Text field blank.... ....Just in case you needed help on Labor Day Eve. |
