Is there a way to get better quality from the pictures when using an Android device like a phone or tablet? The picture quality isn't bad, but the pics just don't seem a crisp as when uploaded from a camera.
I'm doing report on site tomorrow using just my phone and taking all pics wit the phone. I've been using tablet camera and regular camera up until now. |

Cameras on Android phones and tablets do not have image stabilization. Because of this the pictures won't be as crisp. They also do not have a zoom. Never use the pinch zoom as that's just blowing it up like you would on a copy machine and will just cause a loss of quality. The Samsung Galaxy Camera is the first Android device that has both of these.

We are in the process of making our decision which phone, tablet etc. to use. The new Galaxy was one we were leaning towards. So in your opinion is the Galaxy the safest bet on picture quality as well as being able to work on the report mobile.

It depends on where you are. If you live on the East coast or in colder regions or use zoom often I recommend a separate camera plus HIP mobile (assuming that's the direction you're going). The Samsung Galaxy Camera is great but you'll need to be careful with it. it wasn't designed to take abuse.

I still carry the digital camera for anything needing a zoom or low light.
