I do not use ratings or any of the check box features. Like Bob, I just can't see any benifit for my client. Just report(written down) what you see and what needs to e done. If nothing needs to be done just say it is Okay and move on.
I would say that in 50%+ of the EW cases I work on involving home inspectors also involve a check box issue in their report. Just saying...... |

Mike I like the check boxes. However I do like Bobs point and agree with it.. Dominic Im unsure what you mean by your comment. is Mikes check list definition not clear enough? We use pretty much the same thing. Tomorrow Im redoing all of my reports to shorten them. My goal is 20 pages.
To everyone how many pages do you have and how many pictures do you take on a average home 2000sqft? Thanks guys. |

Joe, Good/Fair/Poor is open to interpretation. Good to who? What's good to you might not be to someone else. That's one something like Safety/Maintenance/Not Inspected, etc.

Dom the only way I see checkboxes as useful would be if each section could be customized.
That would be for materials only which changes each section however did you once say some states require them ? Other side of the coin which Dom may have been the one to mention way in the past is if you can check a box you can check a paragraph ...lol |
