TOPIC: iPad or Mini?

Re: iPad or Mini? 11 years 5 months ago #53899

I did a few inspections with my ipad and liked it so much I got an ipad mini.
PROS:
I have gotten to the point where I can get to the house a little early and do a great deal of the report input before my client arrives.
Incorporating most photos into the report is quick and easy.
It shortens my at home time writing the report.
It has functioned smoothly with few hiccups.
CONS:
Date transfer has to be watched and edited.
The ipad screen is difficult to see in the bright Colorado sun.
The cover photo has to be shot from way back or you just get the center of the house.
Sometimes the cover photo is lost.
The ipad camera has no flash. I carry a digital camera for back up on the cover shot and for dark areas.

I really love this method!

I use a 16, but I use it for work and email, that's all.

I've been using a mini for a couple of months and it really works for me.  I have been slowly adding a note in front of each comment, so that's all I really need to see.  It rains a little bit in western Washington, so I also got the waterproof cover from Lifeproof.  It comes with a shoulder strap, which makes it really easy to have the mini with me and still have both hands free when I need that.  I don't use it for photos... real cameras are just more versatile and it takes almost no time at all to batch add photos back in the office.

I have moved to almost entirely using the mini for photos. I got an LED light bar that was designed to be an under counter light that gives me enough light for most photos and HIP lets me adjust brilliance for the photos(Not for me unfortunately! I stay dumb). The photos remind me when I am finishing the report at home that I have a comment to make. I still have to correct the date on every report, I hate that!
