Thanks for the answers on the last one. I have decided to learn the software on my mac and then transfer to the Slate II later. A few questions:
How do I get the contract to print in the report? Can I assign the summary page items numbers? I want my report to look similar to the one I switched from and I have a numbered summary page there. Basically, some agents will say "repair items 1-14" on their removal contingency. Doable? Lastly, I am messing around with the Canadian template and when I print the report it prints all the stuff I did not check (like doorbells). I do not want these things to print because it looks to the client like I was supposed to and did not. Can I change that? Thanks! |

Hi Brad,
1. The contract purposely prints separately as the contract must be signed before you start the inspection or it's not a legally signed contract. If you really wanted to you can include it by pasting your contract as a document under Edit Documents but we advise against it. 2. One of the unique things about HIP is that the summary automatically prints page & item numbers next to everything in summary. If you wanted every comment numbered too you'd need to select an item separator of numbering by clicking Edit Comments next to each section. You can reset this everywhere in the report via Report Settings->Options. 3. Yes, under Report Settings->Options->Item Options set the report only to print comments that have items selected, ratings checked (assuming you have ratings enabled) or a picture assigned. Happy New Year! |

Thanks Dom, I like to include a copy of the contract for the client, so I see how to do that. I guess the numbered summary is not going to work. I went through all the sections and changed them to numbers and it does not print sequentially, so I end up with a bunch of #1's. I assume I did this right, but it just did not look good at all.

It's showing the identical number to what you have in the report section itself. We actually tested giving the summary separate numbers and it was problematic as then people were complaining that the numbers of items in the summary didn't coincide with the numbers in the report. When you're doing a real report those numbers will be a lot of things other than 1 as you'll have multiple comments in each area.
