Note the Move and Scale option when taking a pic with HIP mobile. That's the space it's going to use. Is that cropped area what you're actually seeing in HIP?

Yes, when the picture is taken vertically, HIP mobile crops the photo to a square. You can choose the section of the photo you want, but it's always a square.

A picture taken horizontally appears to be shrunk down to a specific width(the same as the square) and so the overall photo is smaller.

So actually the square photo ends up larger in the finished report.
