Guys...To those who have used HIP for a good long while, I have (2) questions on how you use Dominic's great program. I've used another program for 6 years. ? I've been working with Dominic's program over a few weeks now(minus the time I spent putting a new motor in my truck, and heading for family vacation in Hayward WI).
(i) As you perform an inspection, clicking from tab to tab, highlighting different items, going from Damage/Condition panel to the next...how do you keep track of each tab(panel) that you have already visited? (ii) How many use a template with several items already highlighted so you don't have to select them for every new inspection? Im looking at the best habits others have developed, and using HIP the best way possible. Thanks:) |

Dan, for (i) the program changes tabs you've made a comment on or checked a box on green to help keep track of where you've been.

You need to do this with a client data file and not a template. So I have about 100 lines of text already preselected. I use my client data file as my template. |

Just started to do that... Made a template inspection and start with that. I like defaults. Would be nice to be able to make certain comments or selections the default and then choose on an inspection by inspection basis to apply the defaults.

Thanks David...That makes sense.
Ive been using 3D before HIP was available, so as I make the transition I'm looking how to incorporate the short-cuts I've learned over the years. I've got one other question that Ive discovered. I use a ThinkPad/Lenovo Tablet PC which does handwriting recognition with a "digitizer pen". I can "hand write" in a comment for a unique sitution. I havent been able to perform this task in HIP. Is it me, or is this function not enabled on HIP? |
