I'm going to do an Infrared inspection of a 26 story building with a total of 312 units. I am setting up my template per floor. So I will have 26 sections with 12 pages of images in each section. I will have a total of up to 1800 images for the entire report. Is this doable? Or should I do a separate report per each floor?

We have a company in Brazil that routinely does 1500 photos per report. They do 16-32 homes around new construction for commercial buildings (the inspection is for the builders). They do put them all in one report. The problem becomes the photo tabs. The more tabs you have, the smaller area for the photos. This isn't a problem at all if you have a very large 30" screen which I think you do, but it can tax the computer a bit too as you have all those photos in ram. Just to be on the safe side I'd go ahead and do them in separate reports. This will also present you from having one massive report. If they do want that in the end you could always merge the PDF files.
If you want to test it out though, do a batch add and let the software drop all the photos in. Just make sure to save the inspection until multiple file names bigInspection1, bigInspection2, etc as you go along so you can roll back to the last version if something did happen while you're working on the report. Congratulations on getting that big of a job!! |

Thanks Dom, I figured on doing the floors as separate inspection reports also. Something that big is bound to get screwed up. Thanks for your assistance.

No problem. If you have any other questions, just let us know. Let me know when you're done, I'd like the check out the report. That's a huge IR job.
