Dom, every time I ope HIP I get the "Do you want to allow the following program from an unknown publisher to make changes to this computer?" and the "Publisher: Unknown" message.
I've never asked this, because I got around it by lowering my User Account Control Settings in Win 7 to no notifications at all. But I started to think maybe HIP wasn't installing exactly right and that might be the reason for the unknown publisher. Is this typical? I know I can go to task scheduler and start the program with elevated privileges, but that's a little complicated. |

Because the program runs from a virtual machine so it runs seamlessly on Mac & Windows, Microsoft wants $5,000 to remove that message. Soooo I'm looking for a way around it!

MS does tick me off sometimes with their messages. Just let me say the program is trusted and then save my decision. If the program doesn't change then there is no need to run that check everytime. Virus protection my a--.
Ok, I edited it... |

Hi Dominic....I know this was asked long ago by Cameron...I'm replacing my old laptop which had XP, to a Windows 7 Lenovo Tablet . Is it still normal to get the User Account Control flashing it's "Unknown publisher" warning? I just hit YES and all progresses fine.

Yeah it's the UAC security. You can turn it off in your control panel. We go the Microsoft certification to get this removed to the installer and are working on a way to get it to work in the exe file too (bit of a pain).
