I tried to follow Dan's tutorial on these drop down boxes. I found myself looking for the liquor cabinet. (Just venting)

I'll give it another whirl later.

Hi Drew,

It's pretty straight forward, I think you might be making it more complicated than it is. Whenever you're editing a comment you can click on Insert List and select from an existing list like Water Heater Manufacturers. That would work with something like: The water heater was made by <<Water Heater Manufacturers>>. Then when you want to use that comment, you move it to black/red, double click on the comment to open in edit mode and select the manufacturer you want to use.

To work on the Lists, click Edit Lists, you can click Add List to add new ones and Add Comment to add new comments to each list.

Make sense? Make sure you're selecting the actual list item during an inspection after you've moved it to black/red. You'd set it up on the left. I'm guessing that's where you might be getting tripped up (as that's what Bob was doing too).

That is the stuff in the tutorial that is tripping me up. The words list and comment are used WAY too many times! :) I just finished another frustrating list, comment, drop down session. I will keep hammering away. :'(

Let me know exactly what you're doing and where you're getting stuck. Let me look over the tutorial and clean it up a bit.

I select a comment. In this example this is the comment, Ridge Cap: Deteriorated or missing shingles.
I want to create a list of recommendations. I did this: double clicked the above narrative, a window appears, I click "edit lists" and a split window appears that allows me to make a list, I choose Recommendations as my list name, it appears as <<recommendations>>.  I add a comment to this list like "We recommend having a qualified contractor perform the necessary repairs". I see it in a drop down menu. I then select it to be added to my comment and what shows up is <<recommendations>>. Can't seem to get the brain wrapped around this one. ???

Hi Drew,

I just updated the tutorial.

You're missing a step. You don't select the List entry you want while the comment is on the right. Move the comment to black/red THEN double click the comment and select the List entry you want.
