Hi guys am a new user to Home Inspector Pro and have a time consuming problem perhaps some help or advice would be nice.
I alway include the Date of MFG on furnaces, A/C units and hot water heaters in my report and was looking for any easy way to do this with this software. I am using the system style reporting V/S the room X room. Have observed a way to add my Date of MFG which changes with every report but it is time consuming. Any ideas would be appreciated. Hi Charley,
One suggestion I would have is to create a comment in each of those sections that says something like: Furnace was manufactured on: ,then save that into the template. When you get to a job just double click on it and then add the date of mfg that you're looking at. Is this what you are referring to? I don't know how it could be simpler than just typing in the actual date. What kind of idea did you have to make it faster, or what were you looking for? |

Yes Dom I was probally being dumb but your suggestion is what I was already doing as I date furnaces A/C units. Hot water heaters and all commodes. Just looking for a miracle I guess. Will get it worked out just was wondering what others were doing. Have about 20 hours into the template building, inserting all of my own verbage takes a while. Will have it completed by tomorrow or late this evening if I can stay off of the Nachi BB. Have a three structure inspection scheduled as soon as the utilities are turned on and would like to use this software for it.
One more question how many computers does my License allow me to install on, I know some are restictive. I have two in my office I would like to have the software on and my laptop. I have no employees no one can put up with me. ;D--)) |

Hi Charley,
If you can suggest some sort of method that you think would be simpler, then I can look into adding it. For example, I might be able to integrate something like the calendar on the Client Info page into a comment. I think that might take more work though as you'd have to click to change the month, the year and the date. Or maybe it would be about the same. The license is unrestricted. Install it on as many computers as you want. Since the license contains your name and company name we don't have to worry about anyone 'sharing' their license. The names from the license print on the report so that would make any E&O insurance void to use the wrong name. Hmm, staying off the NACHI board, that's a hard one!! Hehe, feel free to hang out here though If you click on Chat above, there's actually a live chat room that some of the inspectors hang out in. Right now I'm in there all alone, but I'm going to run out and get something to eat soon. I'll be back later though. |

Oh, don't forget to save the template you're working on as a few different names (for backup). Too many times I see people overwrite their new templates as they are getting used to the program. The new version will make this very hard to do, but it's not out yet You don't want to lose all your hard work.
