I printed out Dan's "How to use Lists" but when I click on a comment and hit add comment, the boxes are grayed out where I cannot enter any data. How do I create a list to add and does this only work with a newer version of HIP? I have HIP 3.

Hi Greg,
Click Edit Lists first to add a new list. Then you'll be able to add one. Yes, it only works in HIP 3 (which you have). |

Thinking of using a tablet/computer device such as the HP elitebook 2760P could I still use the mobile app without sending info through the cloud since the tablet and the computer are one in the same? I'm looking for an easier way to use the tablet which seems like mobile HIP is the way to go or could I use the regular program where I pull comments over which seems longer to do?

This is a Windows device, it would use the normal version of HIP which was designed for tablets.

I just tried this and it worked, but i want to check if it could cause problems.
I have many lists because we generate very specific comments regarding findings. One problem is identifying which list to use in a comment that has multiple lists in the same sentence. Such as: <<One to many::>><<story::>><<side::>><<roof penetration::>><<roof issue::>>. <<Rec::>><<repair by::>> What I found today is that i can include a list comment in brackets as the default entry of a list. Someone on the desktop version could now see a list name in each drop down, not a long line of blank drop downs. This way if a list is not used, the selected comment will not include the text within the brackets. It would look like this in the desktop version: Numbersidestoryroof penetrationroof issue.recommendationrepair by An inspector comment of <<One to many::Several>><<side::side>><<story::second story>><<roof penetration::plumbing vent boots>><<roof issue::were damaged and leaking>>. prints as: Several second story plumbing vent boots were damaged and leaking. Please let me know if this could cause problems if i apply it across the entire template in all of my lists. PS i do not know if i will receive an alert if a response to my post is made. |
