TOPIC: How long does it take to build a house?

How long does it take to build a house? 13 years 4 months ago #42740

When this guy called me 1-1/2 year ago to help him, I obliged.
He had been 5 years to bring this house to this point.
I call it the Junk Yard House, because he deals in junk cars. Real nice people. Been working there on and off on weekends and worked steady when out of work for about 3 months with just him.
This is what it looked liked when I pulled in 18 months ago.

After some work, I helped him bring it to this stage.

I guess he is not in any hurry, just him and me, but I did convince him to hire a siding contractor, I just guide him and help him make sure it is done right.

Sure helps me out to pick up the slack when there is no work available. And it is still pretty sketchy around here for work.  :)

Thanks Dom, this album is about 200+ pictures long of all the defects, re-work and consultation I gave this guy to get it back on track to salvage the structure. I even was able to repair all the pine inside that was water stained, it came out like new.
He just needs a little coaxing and the proper directives to stay ahead of it.
I still work there a weekend here and there or when ever he is ready.  :)
