TOPIC: Move In Certified

Move In Certified 16 years 3 months ago #2648

Hey guys I wanted to get your opinions on the "Move In Certified" option found on NACHI site.  I've seen all the posts on the NACHI message board and think both sides have valid arguments for and against it.

I am considering trying this out but would like to hear all your opinions first.

I really don't know what both sides of the "argument" are.  What do you see them as? It seems to me that "certifying" a house adds another layer of liability...

You just hit the nail on the head.  I like the idea, but a lot of people aren't crazy about calling it 'move in certified' due to potential liability.  There have been some suggestions about trying to change it to 'certified inspected' or some other variation of the like.  This idea just upset the people that be and so others still wont do it.  The more I think and discuss this idea, the more I'm deciding not to try it.

Being a newbie in this field, I could sure use the marketing tactic, but I sure don't want the risk that could go with it.

The idea is supposed to be that it's certified by the seller, not by you. I do see how it can be risky though. Why not just call it a Pre Sale Inspection?
