I work for Altisource Portfolio Solutions which has provided mortgage services to important investment banks in the US for more than 21 years. Recently, Altisource has extended its business and actually is managing thousands of houses (REO properties) throughout the United States, which have to be inspected and repaired in order to be sold.



We now manage more than two thousand houses and in the short term, we will receive approximately four hundred houses in California. Hence, we are contacting Progressive Inspection Service and other companies to know if you are interested in providing inspection services for us. We need a quick inspection of each house in order to know their overall condition and the eventual repairs needed.

Morons!

Looks like a legit company at least, but who knows what would come out of it. How much is the CC fee is what I would ask. If it's like a $15 processing fee, okay. A $300 fee to be included, uhh no.

I work for the U.S. Defense Department, U.S. Department of Energy, State of California, Orange County, some of the worlds largest home builders, insurance companies and law firms. 

One thing they all have in common, none of them have asked me for my credit card to provide inspection services for them.

I had the same company contact me a couple of months ago, they wanted me to fill out there form in order me to be approved to do inspections for their firm, “Altisource” they wanted me to do inspections on their properties  under the guide lines of ASHI and way beyond!  Contact the water company, gas company, I forget all the details, but it was ridiculous for what they wanted to pay, a $100.00 or so, I told them I would do them for $350.00, never heard back from them. BIG LOSER'S LOOKING TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF PEOPLE, I looked up their properties, they had 10 in my surrounding area, WOW! I can’t wait to work for free.

I'm glad guys like you take the time to expose rip-off firms like this.

It's the second time they've contacted me Russ.  They're shady for sure.  They used to operate as "OCWEN".  They've been sued all over the country and have since changed their name and operation to "Altisource".

Google:  "OCWEN Bankruptcy" and look at all the crap that shows up.

You are correct in regards to the fee structure.  The first communication from them was way more specific and wanted me to bid on jobs from $50 to $100.  They're full on inspections of train wreck properties and they want repair estimates as well.  They'll eventually release your report at auctions of the properties and you'll be receiving dozens of calls wanting to discuss the your findings.  First you let them have access to your credit card account and then you'll waste hours of your time for a $50 fee.
