TOPIC: Tool Info Request.

Tool Info Request. 15 years 3 months ago #17563

Okay guys, I am thinking of adding to my tool arsenal and some of the tools I am considering are:

CO detector, moisture meter, electrical tester, snake scope, more IR training.

Questions about CO detectors.

1) What CO detector do you use?
2) Is there additional costs to use your detector over time?
3) Do you charge more for using it on an inspection?
4) How much more do you charge to use it?
5) If yes on #3, How often do you get requests to use it?
6) Whats the accuracy of the detector?

Questions about moisture meters:

1) What moisture meter do you use?
2) Can it be calibrated?
3) Does it have destructive pins or not?
4) Whats the accuracy of the meter?

Questions about electrical testers:

1) What tester do you use?
2) Do you charge more for using it on an inspection?
3) How much more do you charge to use it?
4) If yest on #2, How often do you get requests to use it?
5) Does it test GFCI's and AFCI's?
6) Whats the accuracy of the tester?

As far as moisture meters are concerned, I have been eyeballing the Tramex Moisture Encounter Plus.

What do you think of these?

Here is what I have been looking at for electrical testers.

Tasoc Inspector II  www.tasco-usa.com/ins2.htm

Tasco Inspector III  www.tasco-usa.com/inspectorIII.htm

I like the layout of the Inspector II the best and Jay has mentioned that the Inspector II does AFCI's but I can seem find any documentation to the fact.  The Inspector III does show that it does AFCI's.  I would rather get the inspector III for the AFCI feature.
