TOPIC: Low Balling

Hi Guys
Just need to blow off a little steam. Get a call today from a woman needing a home inspection done. I quote her a price of $300.00 which is very competitive for this area. She tells me that she had a guy who would do it for $250.00, but he is not available and is there anyway I can come down to $ 250.00. I stood firm and told her I can't do it for 250.00 I asked her when she was looking have this done. She tells me 7:00 pm Fri. I tell her that I am unavailable. I have a birthday dinner planned for my daughter, anyway I  do not like schedule inspections this late because of darkness and just the time to start a job. I give her a few more optins of Saturday and even Early Sun. morning. she says she has to call her agent because Fri Night was the only time he was available. Nice guy huh. Srry just fustrated. I don't like to turn down inspections but I think low balling hurts us in the long run. So the agent can't find any other time or just pop by to open the door or give us the code to the lock box. Sounds like to me she should try to find an agent who could work with her more. What do you guys think

7pm sounds like an agent who is trying to hide something. That's a ridiculous time to start an inspection!

I agree with you Dom. Even if I didn't have anything planned I don't schedule anything that late. I did try to work with her by even giving her the Sun. option which I don't mind if it is early in the morning but if I was her I would think about this agent she has. I think the low balling is just sometimes out of hand. I know it stinks to have to turn down inspections but I am in this thing for the long run

How big was the place? Did it have a basement? How old was it?

3 Bedrooms couldn't tell me the Sq Ftg she did not have a whole lot of info

Don't look at like you turned it down, look at it like it wasn't meant to be.  If they don't want to pay your prices, someone else gladly will.
