I wanted to check to see if I am calling this correctly.
A/C breakers are single pole with no handle tie connected with a white neutral wire at one of the breakers. I called out that the neutral should be re-identified as a hot and a handle tie should be installed between the 2 20 amp breakers. Or would it be better to replace the 2 single pole breakers with a double rated 30 amps in accordance to the manufactures specifications. Either way I would think the neutral needs to be re-identified. The wire is rated for 20 amps and the minimum amp capacity was 17.9. The romex wire was poorly installed as well, looks like Mr. AC man needs some electrical training as his set up could set the next guy free, if you know what I mean. |

Manufacturers specs are usually the best to follow. But I think you are right, the white conductor should have some black tape on it to identify it is hot, if it is in fact hot, and I think it should be a double pole breaker. |
