As a follow-up on the subject;
I recently purchased a new laptop specifically for HIP in the field, and it works beautifully; The Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga 12.5" w/ 1366x768 res. This laptop solves many of the drawback other laptops/ or Window tablets may encounter. *The resolution is not too high so fonts appear well sized(a common problem with Windows & Surface Pro) *12.5" display is a perfect size for field work *Unit flips into a tablet when in the field *One of the industry best keyboards(light-up keyboard as well) *Unit can be purchased with a Wacom pen *Bright display can be used outdoors. This laptop can also be purchased with a matte display *Not load with bloatware *Designed for rugged use, yet still only 3.5lbs |

I have a Dell Venue Pro 8. I like that it is Windows and that the tablet will fit in my cargo pants side pocket. The memory is not that great on mine and there is no usb port for picture transfer so I have to transfer pictures wirelessly.

I've narrowed my tablet choices down to the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) and the Tab S 10.5. I am inclined towards the Note 10.1 because of the s-pen and the active digitizer. Slightly longer battery life is a plus, as well. Combining the Note 10.1 with the Cannon SX610 seems like a winner, as pictures can be transferred to the notepad by touch.
Is anyone using either of these products, and if so, what's your opinion? Thank you. |

I haven't paired the two but the touch transfer seems interesting. I'll have to look into that.
