TOPIC: accents and diacritical marks

All of a sudden my keyboard has changed and I do not know how to change it back.  When I want an apostrophe I get ?. Forward slash ?, back slash ?, question mark ?. Quote mark ?.  You get the idea.   Any one know what I need to do to fix this?

After I posted my message I saw that what is on the screen after posting isn?t the same as when I was composing the message.  Anyways, still not right.

Check the settings in the control panel which determine what country your keyboard is set up for.  In Windows 7 its under Clock, Language and Regions.  If that isn't it try a different keyboard and see if you have the same problem. Did you spill something on it?

Sounds more like your shift key is stuck. Pull it off and clean out the food you have stuck under there

It is not the shift key. On my original post it looks like all question marks but when I am typing they show up as an lower case e-accent grave, lower case e-accent aigu, upper case E-grave and aigu.  And then the same with a and A.
